Ho Chi Minh City, January 15, 2026 – The Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management (FSPPM), Fulbright University Vietnam, was honored to welcome Mr. Ben Keswick, Executive Chairman of Jardine Matheson, to the School and to introduce him to the recipients of the Jardine–Fulbright Scholarship (Jardine – Fulbright Scholars) at the School’s campus in Tan My Ward, Ho Chi Minh City.
The visit marked an important milestone in the growing partnership between Jardine Matheson and Fulbright University Vietnam since the official launch of the Jardine - Fulbright Scholarship Scheme in July 2025.
The Jardine - Fulbright Scholarship is the first academic support partnership between the Jardine Foundation - an educational trust founded by Jardine Matheson in 1982, and Fulbright University Vietnam. The scholarship supports Vietnamese postgraduate students pursuing a master’s degree at the Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management, with the aim of nurturing future leaders who are committed to contributing back to their communities.
Beginning in the 2025–2026 academic year, the program has awarded seven Jardine–Fulbright Scholarships to selected students based on academic excellence, leadership potential, commitment to contributing to Vietnam’s societal development, and demonstrated financial need.
The Jardine–Fulbright Scholarship is granted in addition to the School’s standard scholarships, covering the remaining tuition balance and enabling recipients to receive full (100%) tuition support for the entire 18-month master’s program, applicable to the Policy Analysis and Leadership and Management concentrations at FSPPM.
Beyond financial support, Jardine–Fulbright Scholars also benefit from comprehensive development opportunities, including professional networking and internship placements within the Jardine Matheson Group’s ecosystem, enhancing their practical experience and leadership capacity in an international context.
In parallel with the scholarship program, Jardine Matheson Vietnam will implement an internship program for Fulbright undergraduate students, providing pathways for students to gain hands-on experience and pursue career development opportunities within Jardines’ member companies in Vietnam.
Sharing his thoughts at the visit, Mr. Ben Keswick, Executive Chairman of Jardine Matheson, remarked, “The Jardine-Fulbright Scholarship is empowering talented Vietnamese students to pursue higher education and develop as future leaders. At Jardines, we believe education is the foundation for progress, and we remain committed to the long-term support of the communities we work in. Supporting this scholarship reflects our enduring commitment to Vietnam’s growth and the potential of its next generation.”
Expressing deep appreciation for the support of the Jardine Foundation, Dr. Jonathan Pincus, Dean of the Fulbright School of Public Policy and Management, emphasized: “We are proud to collaborate with Jardine Matheson and the Jardine Foundation to launch the Jardine-Fulbright Scholarship. This initiative will open doors for our students whose personal circumstances may have otherwise limited their access to higher education. At Fulbright University Vietnam, we seek out future leaders and ambitious thinkers who will make a meaningful contribution to society. This scholarship embodies our shared mission to empower future generations.”
Since its establishment in 1982, the Jardine Foundation has awarded over 500 scholarships to more than 460 scholars and invested over US$50 million, to support study at the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford in the United Kingdom, Universitas Gadjah Mada in Indonesia and the University of Hong Kong.
This latest partnership with Fulbright University Vietnam reflects the Foundation’s continued dedication to empowering youth through education and fostering a new generation of leaders passionate about contributing towards their communities.
